REACH Project Assistant
Location: Amman, Jordan
REACH was born in 2010 as a joint initiative of the two international NGOs (IMPACT Initiatives and ACTED), the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and United Nations Operational Satellite Applications Program (UNOSAT). REACH’s purpose is to promote and facilitate the development of information products that enhance the humanitarian community’s decision making and planning capacity for emergency, reconstruction and development contexts, supporting and working within the framework of the humanitarian reform process. REACH facilitates information management for aid actors through three complementary services; (a) need and situation assessments facilitated by REACH teams; (b) situation analysis using satellite imagery; (c) provision of related database and (web)-mapping facilities and expertise.
:Job Purpose
Under the supervision of REACH Assessment Officers, REACH Research Manager, and REACH Country Coordinator, the Project Assistant is primarily responsible for facilitating communications with partners in Arabic, design and facilitation of training of partners with Arabic, the translation of relevant materials including outputs. The Project Assistant is also expected to support programmed teams in data entry, data cleaning, data analysis, and output production, contributing to the REACH Yemen team in delivery of high quality outputs. The Project Assistant is also responsible for organizing archives, reporting on project achievements, and providing additional support as required to broader activities of REACH Yemen.

Under the authority of: REACH Yemen Country Coordinator, REACH Yemen Research Manager
Line Management: REACH Yemen Research Manager.
:Working relations
Internal: Project Officers, Assessment Officers, GIS Officers, REACH Yemen Research Manager, REACH Yemen Country Coordinator.
External: Cluster partners, NGO and INGO Partners.
:Duties and Responsibilities
:Facilitation of Partner Communication
Under the direction of the Research Manager, Assessment Officers, or Project Officer, the Project Assistant will facilitate communication in Arabic with relevant partner organizations in Yemen.
Design and Facilitation of Training:
Under the direction of the Research Manager, Assessment Officers, or Project Officer, the Project Assistant will facilitate the design and delivery of trainings, in Arabic, with relevant partner organizations.
The Project Assistant will be responsible for familiarizing themselves with all training materials to ensure effective and efficient training delivery.
The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the development of training materials that are relevant and clear in Arabic, and that are appropriate for the context.
The Project Assistant will be responsible for efficient, simultaneous translation during trainings where required
:Translation
Where required, the Project Assistant will be responsible for translating relevant documents, questionnaires, datasets, emails, outputs and other materials to ensure clear communication and dissemination with Arabic speaking partners.
:Data Entry, Cleaning and Analysis
Under the direction of the Research Manager, Assessment Officers, or Project Officer, the Project Assistant will be responsible for data entry, data cleaning and other basic data management using Excel, both in English and Arabic.
Where required, and under the direction of the Research Manager, Assessment Officers, or Project Officer, the Project Assistant will be responsible for conducting data analysis in Excel for use in outputs.
Where required, and under the direction of the Research Manager, Assessment Officers, or Project Officer, the Project Assistant may be required to conduct social media monitoring and other online data collection.
Output Production:
Under the direction of the Research Manager, Assessment Officers, or Project Officer, the Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the production of relevant outputs, including reports, factsheets, presentations, and dashboards using Adobe Creative Cloud.
:QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, information systems/management, humanitarian response or a related field;
Fluent English and Arabic (written and spoken);
Excellent writing and communication skills;
Min 12 months work experience in an emergency and/or development setting desired;
Ability to work under pressure in a high-pace environment;
Good organizational and prioritization skills;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel essential;
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite an advantage;
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills
.ACTED contracts are limited , renewable based on budget availability and performance
ACTED has a standard salary scale for all positions and levels , the selected candidate will be paid a monthly salary of 745 JD , and will be benefited from health insurance and social security.
